4. How do you recycle and upcycle the donated clothes?
When we receive clothing donations, we carefully sort and assess each item. Here’s how we handle them:
- Upcycling: Clothing that is still in good condition but can no longer be worn as-is is repurposed into new, creative products such as accessories, bags, or home goods.
- Recycling: Items that are beyond repair are recycled into materials like fabric scraps or insulation, which helps divert waste from landfills.
- Donations: Clothes are sold based at pricing we think is acceptable & every item sold we then make donations to people in need and community organisations.
By giving your clothes a second life, we help reduce the environmental impact of fashion production and provide much-needed support to those who are homeless or facing financial hardship.
5. Can I donate clothing that is not in perfect condition?
Yes! While we prefer clothing in good condition, we understand that not all donations are perfect. We accept slightly worn items that can still be upcycled or recycled. If an item is too damaged to be worn or reused, we’ll ensure it gets recycled in a way that doesn’t harm the environment.
6. Where do the clothes I donate go?
The clothes you donate are distributed in several ways:
- Upcycled or repurposed products: Clothing is transformed into new, stylish, and functional products, which are sold to raise funds for our social impact programs.
- Recycled responsibly: Items that are not suitable for donation are recycled into eco-friendly materials or used in creative ways to minimize waste.
7. How does shopping with That Way Inclined support the less fortunate?
When you purchase an item from our store, you’re helping in two important ways:
- Supporting the circular fashion model: Every purchase contributes to reducing textile waste by supporting the reuse and upcycling of clothing.
- Funding our donation programs: A portion of the proceeds from every item sold goes directly to supporting homeless shelters, clothing distribution programs, and initiatives that provide essential help to those in need.
So when you shop with us, you’re not just buying a product—you’re directly contributing to a more sustainable and compassionate world.
8. How can I get involved beyond donating clothes?
There are several ways you can contribute to our mission:
- Volunteer: Join us in sorting donations, organizing clothing drives, or assisting with outreach events. We always welcome helping hands!
- Spread the word: Help us raise awareness by sharing our mission on social media, telling friends and family about our cause, or hosting a donation drive.
- Shop sustainably: Support us by purchasing upcycled products from our online store. Your purchase helps fund our charitable initiatives and promotes sustainable fashion.
Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change!
9. What is the environmental impact of donating clothes to That Way Inclined?
By donating your clothes to us, you’re making a significant positive impact on the environment:
- Reducing landfill waste: Textiles are one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. When you donate your clothes, you help keep them out of landfills, where they would otherwise take hundreds of years to decompose.
- Lowering carbon footprint: By recycling and upcycling clothes, we reduce the need for new raw materials, helping to lower the carbon emissions associated with clothing production.
- Saving water: Textile production is water-intensive. By reusing and recycling, we save millions of gallons of water that would have been used to manufacture new clothing.
Together, we can contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry that benefits both people and the planet.
11. Do you accept financial donations?
